FAQs

Registration Cum Membership certification is considered as a membership certificate issued for 5 years by Export promotional councils or commodity board of India. The reason behind the issue of this certificate is that any specific exporter is registered with the council.

The validity of the RCMC registration lasts from 1st of April of the Licensing year (year of issue) up until the next 5 years till the 31st of March from the licensing year, unless specified otherwise.

In case, there is a change in any of Name, Constitution, Ownership, Address, it becomes obligatory for the trader holding the RCMC registration to intimate these changed within a time-frame of 1 month to concerned authorities from the date of such changes . However, if the delay in intimation is backed by sufficient credible proof, the authorities might condone the delay in submission of these changes.

An exporter holding an RCMC registration has to furnish details like quarterly returns as well as the particulars of the exports made by the trader and disclose relevant information to the concerned Exports Promotion Council (EPC). In addition to this, the RCMC holder can submit the quarterly returns in the prescribed format to the Federation of Indian Exports Organization (FIEO).

There are certain conditions, rules and regulations for a trader to hold the RCMC registration. A violation of any of these conditions renders the concerned trader eligible for de-registration of the registration cum membership certificate by the issuing authority. However, prior to this de-registration, the membership holder will be an appropriate chance to contest the de-registration and present plausible evidence for conditions leading up to the violation

From the date of de-registration, within 45 days, an aggrieved trader can make an appeal against the deregistration to the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) or any other designated agency and their decision on the deregistration will be final
